Tournaments

You can have your monster participate in tournaments and battle against other monsters.

Tournament Grades

There are 6 tournament grades: E < D < C < B < A < S. New monsters can only participate in E grade tournaments.
Official tournaments are held in March, June, September, and December. If you win in an official tournament, your monster's grade will increase and it will be eligible to participate in higher grade tournaments.
Upon winning an official S grade tournament, you will be invited to participate in the “Major 4” tournaments.

Battle Commands

You can sign your monster up for a tournament by selecting Battle in the Schedule menu on the Ranch screen.
The following commands will be displayed for each match.

Battle

This will start the match. You will be able to choose whether you want to control your monster directly during battle.

Data

Check the info on your opponent and their battle style.

Forfeit

Withdraw from the current match and advance to the next match.

Instructions

In general, giving instructions and directly controlling your monster during a battle is a better way to bring out their true potential.
However, if the opponent is considerably weaker, then there is no problem with just allowing your monster to fight without your instructions.

Technique Hints

The techniques you can use in battle depend on the distance between your monster and its opponent. You can use a technique when the opponent is within your monster's attack range.
When there are multiple techniques that can be used from your current position, use the strongest technique available.
