From the chaos caused by rival warlords, mainland China was divided into three kingdoms: Wei, Wu and Shu. Next came the kingdom of Jin as gained supremacy, appearing in Story Mode for the first time, which expanded Story Mode into four scenarios. In addition, 'seamless play' was introduced, allowing a seamless progression between event scenes and gameplay. Characters could now equip two weapons and switch between them in real time during battle for a variety of actions on the battlefield.
