Viewing the Screens of NINJA GAIDEN Σ
Main Screen
Ninpo Indicator
Displays the currently equipped Ninpo. You can equip Ninpo from the Pause Menu Screen.
Health Gauge
The amount of Health the player character has remaining. If it is depleted, the game is over.
Ki Gauge
The amount of Ki the player character has remaining. Ki is decreased when Ninpo is used.

Projectile Weapon Display
Displays the status of your projectile weapons, such as remaining arrows.
Interact Display
If you press the button in locations where this display flashes, you can examine the location.

Essence
Essence consists of energy-laden souls left over after enemies are dispatched. If you move near Essence your character will absorb it, but you cannot absorb Essence while guarding. If you collect Essence while charging an Ultimate Technique, the time required for charging will be reduced. The 3 types of Essence are described below, and they each have unique effects.
| Yellow Essence | Necessary to buy items or upgrade weapons. |

| Blue Essence | Replenishes some of your character's health. |
| Red Essence | Replenishes some of your character's Ki. |
Map Screen
If you obtain a map during a stage, you can check an overall map of the stage by pressing the button below.

Equip weapons, accessories, and more. You can equip 1 item from each category. Pressing the button below from the Melee Weapons Screen will display the move list for each weapon, as well as the input for performing them.
